Recipe: Watermelon Mule (p.118)

Summertime is melon time and, while I love fresh watermelon, I would love eating it a whole lot more if I had one of these to accompany it. Clearly, there is more than one way to enjoy our summertime melons.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Bardstown Fusion Series
  • 1 oz watermelon simple syrup (pg 130 in Bourbon Belles & Whiskey Women)
  • ¾ oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • Ginger Beer
  • Dehydrated lime wheel

Instructions: 

  1. Add all ingredients (except the Ginger Beer) to a shaker with ice and shake until well chilled.
  2. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and top with Ginger Beer.
  3. Garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel.
