Lorna Conrad Is Leading Us Forward

Lorna Conrad Is Leading Us Forward

When last we visited with Lorna, she was in the process of moving from Nashville, TN to New York City and was transitioning from a Head Distiller role at Corsair to the responsibilities of an Operations Manager at Widow Jane Distillery.  Her new opportunity took her from a small distillation operation to one expanding post-acquisition by Heaven Hill, and this new challenge saw her using her hands-on production experience to build safety programs and streamline onboarding and training procedures.

Now working as part of a team with a much broader organization, she is continuing her growth but her eye is always looking fondly in the rearview mirror at the craft distillery industry that she left behind.  She is watching them closely, recognizing the particular challenges they face still in our post-Covid world and cheering them onward.  She has feelings about watching some of the smaller operations still struggle while trying valiantly to recover, and she glories in the successes of those that have persevered and are beginning to see daylight again.

If you feel as Lorna and I do, and you also want to see the smaller craft distilleries continue to create the small-batch products we all so love, do us all a favor and add a craft distillery to your next whiskey itinerary.  They will definitely add something special to your adventures.

If you want to chat with Lorna about either her current role and/or the craft distilling world, you can catch up with her in person at the Casey Jones Distillery event on October 14, 2023 celebrating Lorna and other amazing Whiskey Women.
