WhistlePig is carrying us into Autumn with their Maple Bourbon Sour! (p.93)

Yummy, yummy!  I love a Sour and this one has Maple Syrup in it!  What is not to like about that?  Menu for my weekend breakfast?  Pancakes, bacon and a Maple Bourbon Sour all with WhistlePig Barrel Aged Maple Syrup!!  

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz WhistlePig PiggyBack 100 Proof Bourbon
  • ¾ oz WhistlePig Barrel Aged Maple Syrup
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 dashes bitters (an orange bitters would be nice)
  • 1 egg* white (optional)
  • Garnish–an expressed orange peel and/or a Luxardo cherry and/or an orange slice.

Directions:

  • Add all ingredients to an ice filled shaker.
  • Shake until well chilled.
  • Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
  • Garnish with an expressed orange peel and/or a Luxardo cherry and/or an orange slice.

Oh, what the heck!  Throw the fruit bowl in there!
