Today that lovely little Brown Truck arrived with a beautiful package filled with liquid gold! Many of you know of Marianne Eaves and, if you are smart (and I know you are), you have been following her career. She is a renowned Master Distiller with a Chemical Engineering Degree and a penchant for fearlessly following her instincts and passions. Following her instincts has led her from a process engineering role at Brown Forman to Master Distiller and "Reimagination Czar at Castle and Key which was, in turn, followed by a subscription tasting business (Eaves Blind), contract blending (Sweetens Cove) and, now, her own label. She represents the next generation of spirits professionals and she is taking things to the next level and breaking more rules with this newest venture, Forbidden (www.drinkforbidden.com).
Her first two offerings from Forbidden include a Hand Blended Small Batch Bourbon and a Single Barrel Bourbon. If you haven't yet acquired yours, you may have to wait a bit but I promise you two things. First, it is worth the wait and, second, you will definitely start following her career if you are not already.
In Marianne's own words, she is "drawn to realizing innovation and (confronting) big challenges" and these first two offerings from Forbidden demonstrate her commitment to those principles. "Bold moves are part of (her) signature" and Forbidden is a representation of everything she is and all the rules she has broken. Watch as she continues to break rules in her quest to innovate and present to us new and creative forms of our favorite liquid refreshment.
